For those who know:

What is the difference, if any, between Three Witches Original and the reissue?

[profile] luckystar37 sent me an imp of the original, but it smelled like precisely nothing to me -- srsly, it may as well have been water.  The reissue, however, I adore!

to me 3W04 smells like creamy cinnamon on the dry down and lasts a long time, 3W05 smells like burnt clove and fades fast.

I like both but for different reasons.

the reissue of three witches smells like sickly meat. i don't know what it is, but there is a note in there that is seriously off.

the original three witches is quite rare. it's very strong (you literally only need a drop, and i'm a person who loves a bit of throw) and extremely spicy.

i should also say that loads of people get the two mixed up.

I LOVE the original, but I love both. The original lasts a lot longer on me. The reissue smells more cinnamon than clove (I love clove more) and lasts literally minutes.

They both have the same description... so what's the difference? I haven't noticed that with any thing else (not that I've been collecting bpal long enought to know) - Typhon, Glitter...

It is off. WHY are they sooo different?

the original is so strong it's almost overpowering at first. reissue is definitely more tame.

i can't say i'm any sort of authority on why things with the same description are different. (hell, i've only been collecting a year and a few months myself lol) you see it with shub niggurath and miskatonic U, things like that. hell, even newer things like biggerCritter, they have no scent description variations, but more than just the label is different for sure.

OT: Thanks for the card! I had no idea they made cards like that -- v. cool.

I had/have both and didn't bother doing a side-by-side. OH, WOES, SUCH IS MY LIFE! (If I remember correctly they both go all soft and apple pie spice on me and after being disappointed (twice!) the bottles got shuffled off into their respective boxes.)
