Jazzy the Wonder Pup
Is a standard Daschund and seems to be rather bright (compared to most two-legs people). Wednesday she decided she wanted some of the bacon I was having for breakfast, and I wasn't providing tribute fast enough. She went and got her tennis bone (a rubber bone covered with tennis-ball-type fuzz, what'd ya think?) DROPPED it IN my LAP, and sat back to look from my plate to my face several times, while alerting and relaxing her ears. She had offered to trade one of her toys for some bacon! She hasn't played with her bone since then when I'm around, and Rick says not with him either!!!!!
Two questions--first, how typical is this for a d-o-g? It seemed to show actual cause-and-effect reasoning!
AND second, how do I convince her it is OK to play with "my" bone?

When I was a kid we had a combo daschound and beagle, talk about smart. I'll have to post about her sometime.
