Actually, she's not quite right on the Christmas Card one and I didn't read further about the tree.

Prince Albert and Queen Victoria started giving out Christmas card, from what I've researched. And they also brought the Christmas tree tradition over from her German relatives....

That's why I put a question mark -- it was promoted as being a "get the facts" type thing, but it didn't sound quite right.
