random yatter.....
Mar. 2nd, 2004 07:37 pmso they passed around a shift preference at work today...keep in mind the only reason i asked for first shift was that the daughter was at a sitter's all evening when i was on second.
now add in the notion that second gets a shift differential...not a lot, we're non-union, but some...
the notion that i'm a tad bit tired of getting up at oh-dark-thirty and some days oh-dear-GODS-that-can't-be-the-alarm-thirty...
that i sleep better after midnight than before and feel great on 7 hours early-morning sleep while going to bed at 21 (or 20, or those OMG times 1900 hrs) totally wipes me out and i've been living like this for years never feeling quite rested...
and it's a lot easier to exercise if you're getting up at a REASONABLE hour instead of trying to walk at the end of the day when you're exhausted and in pain from standing for 8 or 10 or 12 hours on concrete...
and that second shift turns half the work of first and gets extra money and pats on the back for their hard work, while first gets expected to do more and more with no appreciation either verbal or financial.
I'm asking for second shift back. phooey. i WILL work hard, i can't do otherwise...i think it's genetic...but i am tired of the lack of acknowlegement (sp?) and always being tired and hurting.
I phoned Eldar when the paper came around and we went over the pros and cons...we figure we can work it out for face time when i get home and in the mornings plus weekends--and we can still do "Wednesday Lunch," just a little earlier.
I'm not sure when the shift changes will take effect, or if i'll get switched at all...it does depend on "The Needs of The Plant" first of all.
We figured to put in for it and leave it up to Karma and The Lady.
