ganked from 93.6% of my flist-

1. Stop talking about politics for a moment or two.
2. Post a reasonably-sized picture in your LJ, NOT under a cut tag, of something pleasant, such as an adorable kitten, or a fluffy white cloud, or a bottle of booze. Something that has NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS.
3. Include these instructions, and share the love.

What?  Old books give me warm fuzzies!

And is 'ANYONE surprised that  I posted a book?

The good:

Voted!

There was actually a LINE when I got there, out the door -- 'course, it's a fairly small building.  My ballot was the 526th turned in at this place.  Old-fashioned, you make marks on a piece of paper behind a DM screen!  Then feed the paper into a machine that makes sure you didn't vote for two people for the same office and counts it -- but doesn't check the votes themselves, AFAIK.

The election judges were saying that this is the heaviest turnout they've seen in decades (and I believe some of them have been there for decades).

The not-so-good:

In this area, there are a lot of people who are voting based on skin.

Remember that it's not the popular vote that elects the President.

It's the Electoral College.

Some states do not require their Electors to vote as the people vote.

Nothing is final tonight.

The EC meets 15 December.

I had the notion that the president, the Senate and the House were set up as three entities to sort-of balance each other.

It concerns me that both the House and Senate are Democrat-dominated, along with the President being a Democrat.

Looks like the Republican Party pissed a lot of people off the last few years!

NOW.  Let's not fuck it up, people.
