My first computer used the TV as a monitor and cassette tapes for the programs. I bought a 8KB RAM pack ($100!) to bump the memory up to 16KB. (1983) My next computer came with 4 MB of RAM and a 250MB hard drive. I added 4 MB of RAM (for $100 per megabyte!), and the guy at the store asked me what I was planning to do with So Much Memory and Storage! I explained I was an engineering student and he just nodded. (1992) Now that $100 gets me a terabyte. A fucking terabyte. And I need at least 4 terabytes more right now for video backup. Where's my flying car?
