Did ok on the sales -- Friday was my best sales day, for some odd reason. "Everyone" (i.e., other vendors) kept saying how they were looking forward to Sunday, "On Sunday people are buying the things they've been waitng to get" but that didn't happen for me. That's ok! I do plan to be back next year.
Saw Steven again, and Bob, and some other folks I seem to only catch at VisionCon anymore.
I now possess a Relic -- the hem of Merlin's Robe. (It was too long and he did an impromptu removing-of-the-parts-being-stepped-on.)
Got many compliments on the jewelry (and the Dragon Candles) and was invited to vend at two other cons and advised to see if a certain store in Columbia would have me as an artist for a day! Eep!
I still have trouble with the idea of me as an ar-TEEST, even though several people who are more than competent to make that call have done so -- Hi
scgraphix!
-- young lady comes in, sees a certain pair of earrings, "Oh, my mom loves moonstone and she lost half her favorite pair of earrings! These are very close to a match!" So, since the girl is sweet, thinking of her Mom and all, I offered her/mom a deal on the set and hold them for a bit.
She brings Mom in, and the woman basically starts in with "WELL, I can get these drops at HL for $6 each! I don't want to pay $15 for the pair of (SS and moonstone drops on SS hooks) earrings!"
Daughter points out that the item Mom is thinking of was discontinued over 2 years ago.
Mom keeps on for several minutes to the point I had my mouth open to say "Fine, Missus, just put them down and back away from the table."
Then she decides to take them, but I am not set up to run a credit card except through Paypal. She doesn't have an email address to send an invoice or a request to. More fussing. She doesn't carry checks. All her money is designated for this and that, she didn't bring extra. I point out that there is an ATM in the lobby. She doesn't want to go that far.
Finally she decides to just pay for them. This one time I didn't put a business card in the bag!
I'm thinking it's a good thing I'm on nerve pills.
