Yet another change....

First we were told "You can apply for voluntary layoff until the day before we actually start layoffs."
We were also told that layoffs would be in September.
Yesterday a memo was posted that "voluntary" paperwork must be turned in by 25 August to be considered.
Sounds like that "September" bit might have gotten adjusted a tad, huh?
Am i worried? Really? No. Maybe i should be, but i wasn't even LOOKING for a job when i got this one, 15+ years ago. The one time i DID get laid off here, i drew maybe 3 full unemployment checks in 5 months--the rest of the time i was working at one job or another, PLUS still going to business school full-time. It has been my experience that, if you want to work, there is a job. Maybe it doesn't pay what you were making, maybe it is less "prestigious," but there is a job if you'll do it.
So i don't want to hear anyone wailing about "there are no jobs," got it? It's just that there aren't jobs that you're willing to do.
I was taught that any job is worth doing, and that if you're doing it, give it your best effort or you're cheating yourself more than your boss, your co-workers, or your customers.
Soapboxed it again, didn't i, Madame Llama Hon? Maybe i'll post again a bit later when i can be all chipper and newsy ;)
