Comment on this post and I will pick seven of your interests. You then explain them in your journal and re-post.

[profile] deyaniera  asked me to expound on these:
aromacology
black easter
eckankar
mackerel awards
paranomasia
satan's bratwurst
true stella awards

aromacology
Also known as aromatherapy -- the notion that specific essences from plants can have a physical effect on the body.
I've used blends in lotion or ols OR WATER to alleviate menstrual cramps, ease sunburn, chase off insects like skeeters and bitey-flies, clear up skin fungi and / or infections, strengthen vein walls so my legs don't swell near as bad as they used to, cleared up a rash for one gal that I didn't even know she HAD! (more on that in another post sometime!), cleared up a grampa-man's allergy to his own skin (that's what his doctor said it was!  more on that later too, if you wish), so....Yeah.  No reason there to be interested in it at all, huh?

Black Easter
A book (with a sequel, of course) about someone making a deal with demons to take over and destroy the earth.  We're trying to get up a group to work on that.  By James Blish.  (Now why is that name familiar...?)

Eckancar
Not real sure if I'm interested in this or not -- seems to be a lot of white-light new-age the-universe-loves-me fluff from what little I've found on it.  Of course, there are detractors as well!  The do a lot of "God" this and God" that....and I'm not sure which god they're referring to.  Instead of "Om," they chant "Hu."  There's a storefront for it in Springfield now, so I may call and check it out.  The first time they do the "Because I sad so and I'm more enlightened so there!" thing I'll be out of there so fast my shadow'll be left standing.

mackerel awards
Well, that's a made-up one!  There was a thing on some aquarium's website about feeding a shark a mackerel in honor of someone -- so DH and I decided that when someone pulled one of those things that gives them the appearance of being slightly less intelligent than bait, they were eligible for a "Mackerel Award."  Approximates the "Here's your sign" bit (Bill Engvall) (Thanks [personal profile] jocosa!)

paranomasia
Wordplay of all sorts, but especially PUNS!  Thanks to Spider Robinson for his Callahan's books where I learned this word.

satan's bratwurst
[profile] jeffs_page's name for Jasmine Belle (the Dachshund of the Baskervilles, Lady Baskerville, Jazzy, etc.) 'cause she's taller and all-over BIGGER than your usual Weiner Dog of Doom.  [personal profile] rougewench says she has Rottweiller hips, and I'd say Madam Red should know hips!

the true stella awards
Click the link, I dare ya!!!!!!
Totally property of and copyrighted to Randy Cassingham.

Bogus and frivolous lawsuits brought to light.  Also clears up some urban legend lawsuits like the Winnebago/cruise-control myth.
