Does this make sense to YOU?
Aug. 22nd, 2003 06:09 pmReally slow today--little "real" work, and just a few setup-checks....
So we're scheduled to work tomorrow (Saturn's day) and I can't figure out why--since we were so short on work _today_! Well, if they want to pay me time-and-a-half for loafing, they can do that. Just I'd rather loaf elsewhere!
Also, they've been trying to get some volunteers to work on Labor Day....for _comp time_ rather than the usual time-and-a-half (plus holiday pay--8 hours you'd get anyhow). The maintenance department, however, is scheduled for 7 days per week...and you bet they're getting standard scale!
Tonight, though, I get to sample the joys of Small-Town Midwest America. "The Podunk Poultry Party," or phrasing to that effect. Sort of a combination carnival and excuse to get rid of all the chickens the local processer wouldn't buy, from the description was given. I'm so excited.
