OK, everything's on hold.
Oct. 20th, 2007 12:42 pmI just got a letter from Daddy. One of those "i should have already told you this..." numbers.
He has stage IV lung cancer and it has gone to his bone marrow and they're doing an MRI to see if it's in his brain yet.
I'm headed for Florida.
I may only be there a day before he boots me out, but I gotta see him one more time.
It isn't that long ago he lost his wife, Arlie, to lung cancer that went to her brain. He was her caregiver all along that bad road. Now he's facing it. Their daughter, my half-sister, is a lawyer in Fort Lauderdale, so she'll be dealing with the brunt of this.
Also he's going to someplace in Philadelphia mid-December for treatment.
My daughter and her partner plan to visit him there.
Now I'm heading for GoogleMaps.
And I'm checking for military bases near Ft L to stay in temporary housing there.
More posts as I need to rattle.
