DH goes back to work after lunch, and less than an hour later the fridge starts making this horrendous screechy noise.  Well.  He comes back home, smacks the fridge, the motor goes back to sleep, screechy stops.  Motor starts up, screechy resumes.   We have a newer fridge...in the basement apartment...that took two delivery persons and an appliance dolly to get IN there.   "Oh, no, don't bother anyone, I'll get the dolly from work and take care of it."

I called someone anyhow.

Plus he was able to take softpaw a couple of books that were here waiting on her, and return one to me that she was done with :D

'Cause I know for a fact I'd have been no help getting that monster up the stairs, and I don't want to chance DH getting hurt trying to do it by himself.  This isn't slamming him, I don't want ANYone trying to move a fridge upstairs alone.

I moved the old fridge (since replaced with a newer, more reliable and smaller model) with the ex into this house. While we were moving it up the front stairs, he let go... since I was on the bottom, I was suddenly holding ALL of the weight all by myself. When we got it into the house, I blessed him out about it too. The excuse? "I was tired, I just needed a break" So he dropped 500 lbs on me on stairs!

Yes, he was unbelieveable.
