Carefully packaged seeds of medicinal plants like comfrey and lavender, again with instructions.

Jars of honey.

A strand of green moonstone beads, one of amber, and one of jet.

A drop-spindle and knitting needles/crochet hooks.

The Foxfire books and as many annuals as I can get of BHM.

Three or four pocketknives and a whetstone.  Scrap wood.

The biggest box of Crayolas.

Representative issues of several graphic novels.

Playing cards (since so many people play only on the computer these days, those might be a real treasure!)

A couple of bottles of BPAL.

Newspapers from several major cities.

A few paperback books.

A big sign right on top that reads:

"Hey! yes - you! It's only 2039! Can't you feckin' read?!?!
Now close this back up & bury it again!"

Inquiring minds want to know: which paperback books?
Classics, or representative of 2009?

Both: Fahrenheit 451 and Alas, Babylon; Twilight just so they could see how far we'd fallen and mock us; Uncle Bucky's Big Blue, a KJV, a Qu'ran, and whatever others I could collect without straining myself; Shakespeare and Poe and Lovecraft and Whitman and McVay and Silvera.

A Chilton's I might have laying around and a Known World Handbook to give 'em a puzzle :)

Do you think they won't have smelly things in the future? Or just that theirs will be so different ours will be interesting to them?

Those essential oils get better with time -- so someone who knew what they were seeing would be ecstatic :D

And the BPAL? Just for fun!
