Spent darn close to $200 last night on food and "stuff" for the reception....and not done yet. (WHY did i take Sorchae to Party City with me?!?!?!?) (Oh yeah, 'cause she has good ideas.) (Except the glitter and stoof.) Got a big bucket for the cans of pop, and got a 24-pack each of Dew, DrPepper, Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi. Should be something there for just about anyone. Also got coffee CUPS--disposable plastic ones, not the foam thingys...And got very very WET getting things into the car.

WOW was it _raining_ and about 51 degrees F.

Then when it cooled off overnight...within the city limits we got anywhere from 9" of snow at the north edge of town to 3" at the south edge. Where i work (NW) got 7" -- right next to the airport, so that's official. I figure 5" or close enough was on the car this morning.

Of course a lot of people were driving like it was a bright June day...one went through the intersection ahead of me SiDeWaYs. I kept it slow and careful and had no problems.

This afternoon the ROADS are fairly good--but people are still being idiots. Should i expect different, really?

So worked yesterday, got really grumpy and whiny and didn't want to decide ANYthing by the time Sorchae and Eldar called after work--yes, my Sis and my fiance' were out running around without me. That's fine :)

Anyhow, i was SO fussy Eldar told me to go get some chow and unwind...we'd decide later if i was going to his place, he was coming to mine, or neither. (that's good, when we can either one say "i'm not fit company" and the other doesn't take it personally, huh?)

So once i got unwound, went on out to his place :D

Was still grumpy, some, but got mostly over it after food and a nap. Sheesh, i sound like a toddler....maybe i'm heading for my second childhood? uh, wait....did i ever get out of my first?

They had a rehearsal to go to for a handfasting they were officiating at today (which i went along to, just to get out and run around awhile. Good munchies at the reception, btw.) Reception was at a place called The Candlestick Inn, across the lake from Branson. think we got some good ideas to modify for our HF at Yule :D

Also think we have lined out who we want to call quarters.

And the Champagne Bottle Bubbles for favors? found boxes at Michael's for $9.99 / 24 pcs...same in the catalog that KCWitch (Thanks Hon!) sent me a link for is $7.95....and on clearance at JoAnn's Fabric for $4.85! Think i'm picking up a couple boxes this week....you guess where!

so just got back to the 'puter from going upstairs for a bit---my Sis Sorchae and her hubby were up visiting with Eldar's Mom (and Eldar, of course) while i slept off the leavings of the day-at-work...i was so tired and crabby i was not fit company!

still planning bits and pieces of the handfasting...and will likely rearrange bits of it right up a the last minute depending on who shows up! (Llama, you listening?? BE there! PLEASE!)

Sorchae demands bubbles for favors, i told her that was already in the book (notebook for lists). First thing, even.

And i asked that the first toast after the Gods and the Ancestors is to be to Lady Cimerian, who made it possible for us to meet in the first place. Didn't get any argument, either...was almost surprised.

So...favors decided on, have a schedule for the first fitting for my dress (except now i'm thinking royal blue...i have green stuff already), snacks planned...and someone designated to keep me from going truly and noisily nuts during the day's prep!

OK, got the "hall" reserved---Celebrations it's called---we can have candles, but it's a dry site. OK, sparking Cider (or raspberry, or....whatEVah).

Working on guest list---several ppl who want to come are NOT Pagans, and i'm not certain how they'll cotton to having Elements called and Gods they only know from stories invited to be present...well, if they can't take it, they can wait outside. In Missouri. At night. In DECEMBER. Heh.

That'll cool 'em off.

Have mercy.....before we even TRY to combine households, i MUST have a yard sale. WAY too much STUFF!!!!!!!!!

The candle molds stay with me, they're NOT up for adoption.

Still scheduled as was, don't panic---but we're having the "big deal" this year--next will be a small/private/family deal instead of other way around. Eldar's Mom wants to have the legal ceremony at the family place, and since we're looking at a local hall for this year's, it just makes more sense.

So...we'll be having a small, low-proof "after-party" in Sorchae's terms :)

Munchies, CDs, mostly soda-pop with enough mead/sangria for one or two toasts.

Oh, and the bellydancers :)

I hope....i will be asking at the local schools for a couple of people who will dance for us.

So...Lady Galla is going to make my overdress for Handfasting;
there won't be a "reception" THIS time--that's saved for "the big one" next year; there will be what Sorchae calls an "after-party" probably at a local hotel-which-has-a-bar-and-restaraunt;
we are looking at places to have the actual Ritual;
think there will be about 20 ppl total for the Ritual, more hopefully for the little party after;
at next year's reception, i want 3 beledi dancers (Linda, get practicing!) and really want everyone to dance a little--a "pass the scarf" deal;
i want to make the favors for next time, maybe just a little silk pouch with Rose Quartz in it for each (AND BUBBLES!!!);
April is very happy about being Guardian and required to wear spikes, studs, and lots of leather;
Working on Guest List for both, and for the parties after;
Pop and Arlie-Mom and Brandie get invites, but i don't expect they'll make it;
Dang, there's a lot to do for this stuff!
