Things have been going missing that really should not be -- Em's glasses, a couple of books that one of us saw the other put back on the shelf, etc.

Any suggestions for placating "pookas"?

I'm considering putting out a saki bowl of liquor for them (on the mantel) or sweets on the deck; would either of these be likely to work?

i find that placing VERY shiny pennies in the corners and under the furniture helps.

also try talking to them
"look, i am giving you some toys. (marbles, pennies) but i need my stuff back"

if that doesnt work? get out the big guns and smudge the place....
oh...
also? make notes of whats missing... look it over like clues in a mystery novel. sometimes its a message

glasses? maye you are not "seeing" something
book? about what? title?

I second the bribery/talking-to-them suggestion.
